Cheddar and sheep’s milk and goat cheese ... oh my! Dairy lovers will delight in soft-and-creamy and hard-and-stinky varieties alike, proffered by local artisan cheesemakers at the first-ever Cows & Camembert Weekend. Connoisseurs nibble their way through the activity barn, tasting morsels from Peak Mountain Farm, Fat Toad Farm, Cabot and more. But it’s not just about cutting the cheese: Cow trivia tests bovine smarts and the farm manager explains the criteria for judging a Jersey in competition. Those who’ve overindulged in cheese samples can break a sweat churning fresh chocolate ice cream and butter, or put some muscle into everyday farm activities.
